Community Service: Project Monarch

ASCE LA YMF members brought their enthusiasm and energy to Project Monarch, embodying the project’s community-centric approach! On March 10th, 2024, members volunteered their time to plant and other supportive plants across the park, contributing significantly to creating a viable habitat for Monarch butterflies.

Project Monarch is an environmental initiative dedicated to restoring and preserving the habitat of the Monarch Butterfly in Los Angeles. This project, born from a spontaneous idea between Ranger Luis Rincon of California State Parks and a community advocate, aims to transform the Los Angeles State Historic Park (LASHP) into a thriving hub for Monarch butterfly migration. These efforts are a testament to the power of community involvement in environmental conservation.
