Rancho La Cienega Sports Complex Technical Tour
A group of us were able to enjoy a construction site tour provided by Jose Beristain, P.E. from the Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering (LABOE), Geotechnical Engineering Division, of the Rancho La Cienega Sports Complex! It consists of over 400 piles for a pool and recreation center to be built for the surrounding community. The piles are first vibrated in 37 feet of marsh strata and then driven in with a hammer which is a method not done regularly in the City of Los Angeles!
Thank you Jose, of LABOE, for this awesome opportunity to see this project in action, and thank you to our own Nikki Zulueta, EIT for helping organize this for our group to attend! We really enjoyed it!
