Joint Bonfire with Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute (COPRI)

LA YMF and the Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute of ASCE joined together for a day of fun games, good barbecue, and a fun bonfire with lots of s’mores! We started off the evening with some delicious hot dogs, veggie burgers, and hamburgers along with some chips and freshly made Russian potato and cut fruit that a couple of attendees graciously brought! After we were all fed and ready to move, we started enjoying passing the volleyball around with a huge circle of players trying frantically to keep the ball in the air. Afterwards, we fed a few stragglers and enjoyed the beautiful sunset while getting the bonfire started. Once the raging bonfire settled down, we began the s’mores. As we were running low near the end of the night, a group of Snapchat employees generously donated us more supplies!

There was a great mix of people from all over and it was great to meet everyone and hear their stories around the fire. This event was surely a success and we look forward to working with this and other organizations in the future!
