ABOUT EWEEK

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Los Angeles Younger Member Forum (LA YMF), with support from our generous sponsors and several Council Districts, has participated in Engineers Week for more than a decade. Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, EWeek is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.

Our week-long event consists of five days of exciting fun-filled activities led by engineering professionals. Our unique event invites schools from the greater Los Angeles area to participate and is dedicated to introducing students of all levels to local branches of government and various fields of engineering. Our goal is to educate students about how their own communities were built and to inspire them with the possibilities of helping to shape their built environment!

In 2024, EWeek was held in person event and served over 800 students, teachers, professionals, and volunteers who joined together to inspire the next generation of engineers. Students participated in hands-on activities such as air-powered cars, water filtration projects and pasta towers. Engineers Week 2025 will be held from February 18-22 in various locations in Los Angeles!

If you are interested in participating in Engineers Week, please do not hesitate to reach out to our EWeek Chair or Day Leads!

BECOME A SPONSOR

Engineers Week 2025 needs your support!

Engineers Week is focused on inspiring future generations of engineers and providing opportunities for K-12 students to learn about science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in an engaging and fun environment through professional panels, discussions and hands-on engineering activities. We rely on volunteers from STEM-related fields to serve as guides and mentors for the students, further introducing them to career opportunities they may not yet know exist. Our goal is expose students from disadvantaged and underrepresented backgrounds to the field of engineering and engage them in a fun and meaningful experience.

Engineers Week 2025 will be held in person at various locations and will consist of:

  • Elementary School Day (2nd-5th grade), held on Tuesday, 2/18/2025

  • Middle School Day (6th-8th grade), held on Wednesday, 2/19/2025

  • Girl Day (6th-12th grade), held on Thursday, 2/20/2025

  • High School Day (9th-12th grade), held on Friday, 2/21/2025

  • Girl Scouts Day (K-3rd grade), held on Saturday, 2/22/2025

This fun-filled, week-long event would not be possible without our sponsors and so we seek support from both public agencies and private firms to join us in promoting the importance of government and engineering to students in the
Los Angeles area. Your financial support will provide scholarships, supplies, bus transportation, lunch, and t-shirts while giving you targeted, community recognition and exposure. Sponsorships include recognition on our social media platforms and print media, in addition to a variety of other benefits.

Sponsorship opportunities are detailed in the packet below. If you are interested in sponsoring Engineers Week 2024, please contact us at laymf.eweek@gmail.com.

We thank you in advance for your support and look forward to hearing back from you!
