ABOUT EWEEK
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Los Angeles Younger Member Forum (LA YMF), with support from our generous sponsors and several Council Districts, has participated in Engineers Week for more than a decade. Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, EWeek is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.
Our week-long event consists of five days of exciting fun-filled activities led by engineering professionals. Our unique event invites schools from the greater Los Angeles area to participate and is dedicated to introducing students of all levels to local branches of government and various fields of engineering. Our goal is to educate students about how their own communities were built and to inspire them with the possibilities of helping to shape their built environment!
In 2024, EWeek was held in person event and served over 800 students, teachers, professionals, and volunteers who joined together to inspire the next generation of engineers. Students participated in hands-on activities such as air-powered cars, water filtration projects and pasta towers. Engineers Week 2025 will be held from February 18-22 in various locations in Los Angeles!
If you are interested in participating in Engineers Week, please do not hesitate to reach out to our EWeek Chair or Day Leads!
